美国海岸警卫队当地时间10月4日晚表示，已停止对在马萨诸塞州楠塔基特岛附近海域坠毁的一架医疗救护飞机的搜救行动。这架飞机所属的加拿大医疗运输服务公司发布声明称，机上6人据推定已全部遇难。
这架飞机上载有4名加拿大人和2名百慕大公民（病患及病患家属），原计划从百慕大韦德国际机场飞往波士顿洛根国际机场，但在当地时间10月3日凌晨预定降落时间前不久，突然从雷达上消失。据美媒报道，该飞机可能发生电路故障，致导航失灵，陷入“盲飞”状态。美国海岸警卫队随后发表声明称发现了飞机碎片，并确认与失联飞机有关。
