7月23日，同行潜水员向记者讲述华裔女子19日在马来西亚刁曼岛海域潜水失联并遇难的经过。
秦先生称，他们参加完种珊瑚的志愿活动后去休闲潜水，当天水下能见度低，水流不稳，女子失联超30分钟后，在下潜地附近约20米深的水下被找到，已无生命体征。
记者从女子亲属处获悉，女子姓王，为马来西亚华裔，家人已为其举办悼念仪式。
当地警方通报称，经法医鉴定，女子死因为动脉气体栓塞，不涉及刑事犯罪。
