4月5日，印度北方邦一座约18米高的简易摩天轮运行时倒塌瞬间曝光。事发于1日，摩天轮从底座上撕裂，多名乘客被抛向地面，还有人被压在下方。目击者称事发时近80人乘坐摩天轮，至少30人受伤，其中2名儿童情况危急。
据报道，事发前摩天轮曾发出嘎吱声 ，有乘客表示担忧，但设施仍继续运行。初步调查显示，摩天轮的底座不牢固，导致无法承受过大负荷。事故正在进一步调查中。
