中国国民党主席郑丽文将于4月7日前往大陆访问，她2日下午拜访台民意机构前负责人王金平，向其请教。
王金平强调，这不仅是国共两党间的交流，更是台湾“开路、避险、保平安”的重要契机。
王金平也表示，两岸同文同种，血脉相连，同属中华民族。两岸本是一家人，无需外人插手。
王金平肯定郑丽文此次行动，称关键时刻需有胆识，为两岸共谋太平不必在意一时流言蜚语，只要心系苍生，民意就是支撑她的后盾。也让世界看到台湾有能力自主寻求和平，解决台海危机，而非被动受制于人、任人摆布的棋子。
