Established in 1994, McDonald International Academy (MIA) is a secondary school (Grade 9-12) dedicated to educating students around the world. Since our inception we have helped over 20,000 students from over 50 different countries reach their educational goals and dreams. Our Main Campus is located in the heart of Downtown Toronto near Yonge/Bloor.
We are currently expanding our administrative team and are seeking a qualified candidate to fulfill the role of Administrative Assistant.
Start Date: Immediate
Position: Permanent, Full-Time
Working hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 5 pm
Location: On site at our Main Campus
Job Duties:
Perform office administrative operations such as making school announcements and generating correspondence.
Input, check, and edit report cards, transcripts for each school semester.
Manage and update students’ profile in both hardcopy and electronic versions using school filing systems.
Archive important school files and other related materials in a systematic and organized way.
Assist with the enrollment process following established policies and procedures when required.
Answer telephone and enquiries, and ensure all the incoming calls and emails are forwarded to the right department to take care.
Greet walk-in clients, deliver proper customer service and introduce clients to the school management.
Schedule appointments and record minutes of meetings.
Maintain office inventories and replenish stock.
Supervise and train new employees when needed.
Qualifications:
Acquire a high school diploma or its equivalence.
Have been working in a school environment or similar setting for at least one year.
Ability to establish effective working relationships with students, parents, staff, and the general public
Be fluent in both written and oral English and Mandarin. Other languages are an asset.
Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Be able to multitask and effectively finish tasks in a timely fashion.
High attention to detail and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance.
Have excellent multi-tasking, organizational and time-management skills.
Be flexible and constantly adapt to change.
